Capture Your Day With The Right Photographer

Weddings are often a girl’s dream growing up. A woman might spend years thinking and planning out the details for her dream wedding and traditionally, men respect what the bride wants or at least go along those lines. And considering the importance the bride places on this day, everything should turn out perfect. Not just that, everything should be captured in perfect photographs that serve as a memory of that moment.

The photography of a wedding can be separated into several pieces and one of the most important ones is bridal photography. This includes everything, from the moment the bride wakes up, all through her process while getting ready for the ceremony, and even in those instants before walking down the aisle.

Bridal photography is an opportunity to shoot some of the most beautiful moments before and during the wedding. The glow in a bride’s face is something unmatchable and as such, it should be recorded. Through a good service of bridal photography, the perfect moments and memories of that special day will be caught in pictures that will last for generations as a proof of the love between two people.

Although it can seem easy to hire just any photographer to capture the wedding’s special moments, hiring a specialized professional will always be a better idea. A wedding specialized photographer, or even better, a team of wedding photographers who specialize in different areas, such as the dinner party, preparations, dancing, etc., is a great idea.

Once the husband and wife come back from their honeymoon, ready to begin their new life together, they will want to look at the pictures of their wedding to get an idea of everything that happened and all the things they missed while immersed in each other. When the groom sees those beautiful bridal photographs of her getting ready before the ceremony, he will fall in love again.

Planning Your Big Day

Planning a wedding is no easy task and any bride can attest to this. Even though brides are usually more involved in the decision making of the wedding plans, grooms also feel the toll of the stress involved in wanting to have the very best and making the best decisions.

Although most people walk into the process of planning a wedding with lots of ideas and illusions, it can be hard to come to face with the reality of what it implies. The cost of a dream wedding is something a lot of people don’t have in mind when they start requesting services. The idea of having to choose between one flavor of cake and another might seem like fun, but when decisions need to be made about everything, from invitations to the color of the bows on the chairs, it can turn into a stressful activity rather than a wonderful, enjoyable process.

There are a number of services that can help you with the planning of a wedding, but you also need to be careful about whom you hire and the kind of decision making power you grant them.  Either way, whether you get professional help or sort through all the details on your own, you should always keep in mind why you are doing it.

Even with the stress of it, planning a wedding should be enjoyable, something to look forward to because, in the end, you are planning out what should be one of the best days of your life; the day when you will marry the love of your life and start a new journey together. All the plans should be about the celebration of that love and that relationship so don’t let it transform into something negative. Enjoy every step of the way, all the way down to the altar.

Should You Be Concerned About Bridal Party Hook-Ups?

So, it is the weekend of your big event. Everybody is excited. Friends, family, you, groom, groomsmen, and the lady’s that has the brides back through the process, the bridesmaids. You have wonderful and beautiful bridesmaids who may be single and ready to mingle with some of those handsome and ready-for-some-fun groomsman. Even with all of the things going on in the last days leading up to the wedding, you notice there has been some flirtatious behavior and some chemistry between some of your bridesmaids and groomsmen. Should this concern you? The answer is depending on the type of friends everyone has.

Typically your bridesmaids are your friends, and you know them better than anyone. You know if they are the chill friend who takes things as they come, the “fall-in-love-with- everybody” friend who believes in love at first sight every time she looks at a new person, or if they are the get angry friend and have to curse somebody out anytime, anyplace, whenever. If your friend is the latter, them hooking up with someone during your wedding may not be the best idea because if she gets angry, it could possibly ruin a special moment at your wedding. If they are able to go with the flow, however, don’t worry yourself with their extracurricular wedding activities. You have enough to worry about then who hooked up with who after the rehearsal dinner like the wedding transportation, planning the ceremony and whether or not you want to hire a wedding planner.

You never know who may hook-up in the wedding party, and you never know, you may be attending a wedding for the couple in the future.

Have You Thought About an Airbnb for Your Wedding?

There is a new way of traveling and vacationing these days that is called renting an Airbnb. An Airbnb is when people rent out their home, or a fully furnished home they own, for a certain amount of time. The is a great option for venue or even for wedding reception ideas, Airbnb’s have become extremely popular for people who want to not just stay in the touristy or in the hotel district of a city. It allows people to be a part of the neighborhoods and the culture of the city. Having your wedding at an Airbnb may be just what you are looking for as a place to have your wedding. You get the feel of an all-out destination wedding, but yet the comforts of a simplistic home wedding.

Airbnb’s come in many different sizes, locations, and bedroom availability. You are able to select the Airbnb, so get the amenities you may want for your wedding like a big kitchen, large back yard, two or multi-story, a great room, or whatever you think will meet your wedding plans best. Tipping wedding vendors: How to do it right

While we do our best to plan out the expenses when it comes to weddings, most of us forget one expense- the vendor’s tip. While tipping vendors is not mandatory, especially since you’re already paying wedding vendors’ fees, it is expected. So, the basic purpose of tipping vendors is to show them your appreciation for their service.

With that in mind, how much do you tip vendors? Most importantly, are you supposed to tip all of the vendors involved in your wedding planning?

Here is a simple guide that can help you:

Read vendor contract carefully

Some vendors, such as wedding caterers, include gratuity in their fee. This is usually 20 percent of the total bill. Make sure you read the contract to avoid tipping twice.

Tip on the wedding day

Most vendor tips should be given on the day of the wedding. You can ask a reliable friend or family member to tip vendors on your behalf at the end of the day. Use a plain business envelope to hand out tips.

Don’t tip the self-employed

Don’t tip the owner of a business. In other words, you don’t need to tip your videographer, hairdresser, etc. if they are self-employed.

If you really want to show your gratitude to a vendor has done an exceptional job, then get a nice present for them rather than handing out cash.

Add a thank-you note

Remember to send a handwritten thank you note. This simple note goes a long way in making a vendor feel special. Also, write a positive review on the vendor’s website or social media page.

Whom to tip and how much

  • Officiates: It’s not compulsory to tip religious officiates. In fact, most of them won’t accept cash tips. If you feel the need to do so, make a donation to their organization. Anywhere between $75 to $100 is good enough.
  • Catering staff (waiters, bartenders, chefs, etc.): If the caterer doesn’t charge a gratuity fee, you should tip their staff. Consider giving a certain percentage of the total catering bill to the catering manager and their staff.
  • Musicians / DJs: $25 to $50 each.
  • Wedding planner’s staff: $50 to $100 each.
  • Photographers/videographers: $100-$200 (if they are not self-employed).
  • Reception band: $25 to $50 each.
  • Driver: 20 percent of the total transport bill.
  • Valets: $2 per car.
  • Delivery staff: $5-$20 per person.

These are some essential vendor tipping rules that you should definitely follow. At Wedding Steps, we provide the most reliable wedding vendors in CT for you to work with.
